Destination Description
Africa is certainly no 'dark continent' when it comes to birding opportunities. This vast continent spans several zoographic zones with influences from Europe and Asia where many birds migrate to, as well as having its own unique birds. More and more countries are opening up to eco-tourism and the infrastructure, particularly in southern Africa is also much better than previously. As well as tour companies based in the developed world and home grown companies offering birding tours there are several African companies offering tours to neighbouring areas as well as within their own country.
